Travel Nursing Job Details

• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse
• Location: Jackson, MS 39202 (Mississippi healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts/week)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Assignment Length: 8–13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Mississippi or compact state)
• BLS Certification (required before first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
• Minimum 2 years of acute bedside clinical experience in Med/Surg or related units
• LTAC, Stepdown, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience preferred
  
  

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
• Develop and implement individualized care plans; collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on health care needs and recovery
• Communicate changes in patient status to the clinical team for continuity and safety
• Supervise and mentor ancillary nursing staff
• Promote a safe clinical environment by adhering to hospital safety policies
• Support team building and unit efficiency
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation, as needed
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
