Job summary

Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical/Surgical on a PRN 12-week contract. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

The role offers a $65/hour rate with a 2-day-a-week schedule, and opportunities for professional development in a supportive, team-first environment. New graduates may be considered and orientation will be provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Ability to successfully complete hospital orientation and required competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and recognize changes in condition.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Use clinical judgment to prioritize care and respond to changing patient needs.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Educate patients and families about medications, treatments, diagnoses, and discharge needs.
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, fall prevention, and quality outcomes.
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation.

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois.

Preferred

• Medical/Surgical or other acute-care nursing experience.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Experience caring for patients with multiple medical diagnoses or complex care needs.

New graduate RNs may be considered.
