Qualifications

• Education: bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
• 5+ years Med Surg experience; 3+ years nursing leadership/management.
• Licensed NYS Registered Nurse; BLS/ACLS.
• Experience in a unionized environment and quality/patient experience improvements.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day operations of the Med Surg unit and staff.
• Oversees staffing, scheduling, and training for RNs, LPNs, and aides.
• Manages budget, supplies, and departmental financial performance.
• Ensures compliance with Joint Commission standards and safety policies.
• Leads quality improvement initiatives and cross‑functional projects.
