Job Summary and Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to ensure appropriate patient care is provided in a cost effective, quality driven, and patient focused manner. Collect pertinent social, psychological, developmental and spiritual data from the patient, significant others and other health care team members.
  • Perform ongoing assessment, formulate nursing diagnosis and goals, plan appropriate interventions, and evaluate the outcome of interventions.
  • Consistently document in the patient and unit records according to written health system standards of care in order to meet legal and quality patient care requirements.
  • Provide appropriate teaching and information to patients and families, including information on Pain Management, Nutrition, Skin Integrity, Fall prevention, Diabetes, Disease Process, Smoking Cessation, and Discharge instructions.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the goals and values of the patient, hospital, community and nursing profession through cost containment measures, maintaining confidentiality, appropriate ethical decision‑making, and ensuring patient safety.
  • Use interventions substantiated by research as appropriate in the patient population. Participate in research activities, identify opportunities for research, and collaborate with Outcomes managers and department.
Job Requirements
Required
  • Associate of Science Nursing and at least one (1) year of RN experience; upon hire.
  • Diploma Nursing and at least one (1) year of RN experience; upon hire.
  • Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire.
  • Registered Nurse: Texas, upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days.
Preferred
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing, upon hire.
