Baptist Health in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Med/ONC Unit Clerk (7A) to support the patient care team by coordinating communications, documenting patient information, and facilitating workflow on the unit. You will assist RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and physicians, perform clerical tasks, and ensure smooth daily operations during First Shift.

A High School diploma and BLS are required, with hospital experience preferred.

Highlights:

Summary : The Unit Clerk shall be responsible to facilitate the efficient operation of the health care unit through demonstration of consistent organizational and communication skills. The Unit Clerk will assist RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Physicians in the patient care process. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Education/Experience : High School graduate or equivalent required. Prefer at least 6 months of hospital experience.

License/Certification : BLS required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of medical terminology and computer experience.
• Strong communication and customer relation skills.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Position requires sitting for 80% of the workday and mobility 20% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
