Job summary

TALENT Software Services is seeking a Supplier Engineer II in Carlsbad, CA with hybrid work. The role focuses on leading supplier quality and process improvements within complex medical device supply chains.

You will apply LEAN, Six Sigma, and DFM principles, partner with cross-functional teams, and manage supplier relationships while traveling 10–15% globally to ensure on-time, compliant component delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 3+ years in supplier/manufacturing operations
• Supplier engineering experience 2–4 years, medical device experience preferred
• Experience in supplier relationship and/or purchased component management
• Demonstrated engineering fundamentals (LEAN, Six Sigma, DFM, statistical methods) and problem-solving skills
• Strong cross-functional teamwork in a technically demanding environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel 10-15% globally

Responsibilities

• Participate in large-scale projects or sub-workstreams under guidance from senior engineering staff; use Windchill and supplier procedures
• Work with cross-functional teams to qualify and improve supplier processes; plan and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work
• Interface with suppliers with support from commodity teams to address material issues or supply constraints
• Conduct material investigations to identify root causes of defects in supplied components
• Oversee and coordinate supplier change notifications; apply Change Impact Assessment in the QMS
