Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems. You will install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, and mentor junior technicians.

Key duties include following safety procedures, completing preventative maintenance with documentation, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems on MHE.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products
• 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
• 2+ years of repairing material handling equipment (MHE) or related systems
• 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics
• 2+ years of safety standards experience
• 1+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of MHE
• Work a flexible schedule including weekends/nights/holidays

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
• Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to MHE (belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, etc.)
• Maintain a positive working relationship across all Amazon Operations facilities
• Move up to 49 lbs, stand and walk during shifts up to 12 hours, climb ladders safely, and perform bending/lifting/reaching as needed

About the Role

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. In addition to developing your skills, you will mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
• 1+ years of working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications experience
• 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures experience
• 2+ years of repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment experience
• 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics experience
• 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience
• 1+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE) experience
• High school or equivalent diploma
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of automated conveyor systems and controls experience
• Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and safety standards

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
