Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems. You will install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, while mentoring junior technicians to grow in their roles.

The role emphasizes safe work practices, CMMS-driven tasks, and hands-on troubleshooting of MHE, conveyors, and robotics.

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma (as a minimum)
  • - 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
  • - 2+ years of automated conveyor systems and controls experience or apprenticeship program completion
  • - 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics
  • - 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
  • - 2+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of MHE
  • - Ability to lift up to 49 lbs and work long shifts with safety first mindset

About The Role

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. In addition to developing your skills, you will mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Key Job Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • You will promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
  • You will complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation
  • You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more
  • You will maintain a positive working relationship across all of the Amazon Operations facility
  • You must be able to move up to 49lbs, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, climb ladders and gangways safely, and without limitation, as well as perform regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head

A day in the life
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and checks on conveyor systems, sortation equipment, and facility infrastructure
  • Execute planned maintenance tasks using CMMS system
  • Complete and document preventive maintenance work orders
  • Respond to and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns
  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues

About the team The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at CVG9 is a vital part of Amazon's world-class maintenance organization, responsible for maintaining and optimizing our advanced fulfillment center's operations. Our skilled team of maintenance professionals works 24/7 to ensure peak performance of automated systems, material handling equipment, and facility infrastructure. We pride ourselves on our safety-first culture, technical excellence, and collaborative approach to solving complex maintenance challenges. As an RME Tech II, you'll join a dynamic team that values continuous learning, professional growth, and maintaining Amazon's culture regarding new automation technology.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • 2+ years of automated conveyor systems and controls experience, or certification from Amazon's Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship Program
  • 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures experience
  • 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics experience
  • 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience
  • 2+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE) experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance
  • 2+ years of electrical and electronic principles experience
  • Associate's degree in Mechnical or Electrical
  • 2+ years of Mechanical or Electrical apprenticeship experience

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
