Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI) seeks a Mechatronics QA Engineer to ensure quality across automated mechatronic systems. You will test mechanical, electrical, and software components, identify defects, and push for reliability and safety across prototypes, field tests, and production deployments.

You will lead QA efforts, coordinate across disciplines, and contribute to test strategy, automation, and continuous improvement within a fast-growing robotics division.

Summary

As a Mechatronics QA Engineer at ASI, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our autonomous mechatronic systems through extensive testing and analysis. You will work closely with your team to assess the functionality and performance of mechanical, electrical, and software components in integrated systems. You will help identify and resolve defects, ensuring the product meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability.


Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with project teams to understand system requirements and design appropriate test plans and strategies for mechatronic systems.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive test cases, procedures, and documentation for hardware, software, and integrated system testing.

  • Execute manual and automated tests to ensure the mechatronic systems meet functional, performance, and reliability requirements, including mechanical and electrical components.

  • Troubleshoot and debug issues found during testing and work with the project teams to resolve them, including coordination across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

  • Conduct user-acceptance testing for integrated systems, as the mechatronic components and systems are ready for release.

  • Participate in scrum meetings and provide quality updates related to hardware and software integration.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of our mechatronic products.

  • Perform tests in the lab, on prototypes or vehicles, and in field test environments to assess real-world performance.

  • Develop testing protocols for different stages of product development and ensure proper validation before production or deployment.

  • Lead testing strategy and validation for complex autonomous mechatronic platforms.

  • Contribute to automation and efficiency improvements within QA processes.

  • Represent QA in design reviews and product planning efforts.

  • Build and refine testing protocols for field deployment and production-readiness.

  • Provide leadership in cross-disciplinary debugging and validation reviews.


Required Qualifications


  • 6+ years in QA or testing for complex mechatronic or robotic systems.

  • Proven leadership in QA test execution or systems validation.

  • Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis expertise.

  • Familiarity with HIL testing and QA automation strategies.


Travel Requirements


  • Up to 30% travel for field test leadership, customer interaction, and validation initiatives.
