Mechatronics Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool)
Part-time faculty position for Mechatronics courses with a flexible schedule at Clovis Community College.
Position Overview
Committed to student success through equity and culturally responsive teaching, the instructor will deliver Mechatronics instruction using varied pedagogies and technology across face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned part-time Mechatronics courses.
- Use diverse pedagogies and instructional delivery systems, including technology, for face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Apply curriculum course outlines and provide course syllabi.
- Evaluate student progress via tests, examinations, written assignments, oral responses, etc.
- Maintain classroom records per District Policy and submit grading and evaluation reports on time.
- Teach assignments in various instructional settings and times as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
Minimum Qualifications
- Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds in community college context.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of directly related professional experience; or
Associate degree and six years of related experience; or
A valid California Community College Credential; or
Equivalent education and/or experience (equivalency required).
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into instruction.
- Recent experience working with historically underrepresented student populations.
- Willingness to examine instructional practices for better engagement of racially minoritized students.
- Knowledge of assessment methods and materials for community college teaching.
- Proficiency with educational technologies and communication with students and staff.
- Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance instruction and student success.
Salary and Benefits
- Newly hired part-time faculty placed on step one of the Part-Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
- Salary based on education and experience as outlined in the salary classifications.
- Sick leave accrual based on assignment hours.
Selection Procedure
Applications are evaluated by the hiring department for vacancies. There is no fixed closing date; applicants enter a continuous pool for 18 months. If not selected within that period, a new application is required.
