TAR is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to join our San Francisco robotics facility. You will own the machine’s electrical integration and firmware, handling power, motor control, sensing, wiring, and real-time control to make a heavy, vibrating system act like a precise robot.

This mid-to-senior IC role collaborates with mechanical and electrical teams, with regular field time at our West Texas campus, and is based on-site in San Francisco.

Qualificações

• 4+ years of electrical engineering experience in robotics or mobile/field systems.
• Deep fluency in power electronics, motor control, sensor integration, and signal integrity in noisy environments.
• Hands-on embedded firmware development in C/C++ for real-time control, CAN or EtherCAT, debugging with a scope.
• Track record bringing an electromechanical system from schematic to working hardware.

Responsabilidades

• Own the driver’s electrical integration and fleet architecture, including battery power, motor controllers, safety circuits, and rugged harnessing.
• Select, integrate, and tune motors, drives, and actuators in coordination with mechanical engineering.
• Develop sensing stack: encoders, IMU, RTK-GNSS, and safety/limit sensing.
• Create embedded firmware and real-time control with CAN/EtherCAT, interlocks, and telemetry logging.
• Lead electrical test and bring-up with hardware-in-the-loop and field debugging.
