Job summary

Insight Recruitment is looking for a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to lead development of our robot tooling and autonomy stack in real customer warehouses. Brooklyn, NY in-office and San Francisco initially remote as offices open later.

You will design tooling, work with robot pilots, prototype, validate, and help make build-vs-buy decisions while traveling to customer sites. The role offers base salary $150,000–$225,000 with equity and benefits.

We build industrial AI robots that are working in the real world today: automating mission-critical warehouse labor end-to-end, starting with e-commerce order packaging. We already have a fast-growing fleet of revenue-generating robots live in U.S. warehouses, and we're scaling toward thousands of deployments over the next few years.

The mission: build the world's most useful and deployable robot. We're looking for a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to help lead development of our robot and the tools it uses in real customer warehouses.

What you'll do:

• Design and deploy robot tooling and end effectors that solve real customer problems
• Work closely with our robot pilots to optimize performance against real customer metrics
• Run rapid design loops: prototype, validate in the lab, learn, refine
• Make smart build-vs-buy calls on tools and peripherals
• Collaborate with the wider engineering team to keep your work compatible with our autonomy stack

What you bring:

• Multiple years of robotics experience across the full mechatronics stack - 3D design, DFM, mechanical/electrical assembly, soldering, component sourcing, and enough code to tie it all together
• A portfolio of clever hardware solutions across a range of mechanical and electrical approaches
• A love of problem-solving (almost to a fault)
• Comfort working independently in a high-trust, high-autonomy environment
• Strong communication skills, you build real relationships with customers and vendors
• Willingness for occasional travel to customer and supplier sites

$150,000 – $225,000 base + equity + benefits
