Job summary

A solid waste management company in Proctor seeks a Mechanic Helper to assist with general maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment and onsite vehicles. Responsibilities include performing repairs, completing daily paperwork, and helping with breakdowns to ensure operational efficiency. Ideal candidates will have some hands-on experience, good communication skills, and a valid driver's license. This is a full-time position requiring some Saturday work and offers opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance on heavy equipment and onsite vehicles.
• Perform repairs and complete necessary daily shop paperwork.
• Help fix major breakdowns to prevent delays in operations.
• Support on-site landfill operations, including truck driving and landscaping as needed.
• Assist with any required equipment servicing to prevent operational delays.

Responsibilities

• Help assist with any general maintenance on heavy equipment/onsite vehicles
• Help fix any major repairs needed in a timely manner
• Perform any general repairs/services on heavy equipment/onsite vehicles
• Complete necessary daily shop paperwork
• Help fix any major sudden breakdowns in a timely manner to prevent delay in operations
• Ability to help out onsite of the landfill when needed with driving truck, landscaping, etc.

Compensation

• $ -depending on experience

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday full time
• Overtime hours are available immediately
• Must be able to work every other Saturday

Requirements

• Must have some hands on experience as a helper and knowledge of mechanics.
• Must be able to work every other Saturday
• Good communication skills both orally and written
• Must be comfortable and able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must have a valid drivers license
• Ability to drive both commercial and non-commercial vehicles with manual transmission (preferred) and automatic transmission
