RFA Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to join the on‑site team in Pontiac, IL, focusing on development and validation of mechanical products and components. You will perform hands‑on laboratory testing and engineering analysis, collaborating with experienced staff to drive product quality and performance.

Responsibilities include executing tests, creating drawings and documentation, and supporting design verification and root‑cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• 2-4 years of mechanical engineering, product development, testing, or validation experience.
• Experience with mechanical design, engineering drawings, and three‑dimensional computer‑aided design.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, schematics, and test data.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to document and communicate technical findings.

We are seeking a growth-oriented candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will be onsite at our client's Pontiac, IL facility working with their fuel injector systems.

Mechanical Test Engineer

Mechanical Test Engineer will support product development and validation activities for new and existing mechanical products. The selected candidate will work in a fast-paced team environment with a strong mix of hands‑on laboratory testing and engineering analysis. Responsibilities will include developing and executing product testing, supporting new product introduction, creating and reviewing engineering documentation, coordinating analysis, and troubleshooting mechanical systems. This position provides an opportunity to work on high‑visibility projects while developing a broad range of mechanical engineering and product validation skills.

Requirements

• Experience with tolerance stack‑up analysis, O‑ring calculations, bolted joint analysis, or similar mechanical engineering calculations.
• Experience with mechanical testing, laboratory equipment, data collection, or product validation.
• Ability to balance hands‑on testing with computer‑based engineering work.
• Self‑motivated and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative engineering environment.

Pay Range: commensurate with experience - $65,000-$90,000
