Job description

Starting Pay: $23.50 per hour

Compensation is based on relevant skills, experience, and assigned shift.

This position operates on a rotating three‑shift schedule. Employees assigned to afternoon or night shifts are eligible for shift premiums:

  • Afternoon Shift: Additional 6% premium
  • Night Shift: Additional 10% premium

LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) develops and manufactures large lithium ion polymer batteries and modules for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage applications.

Summary

As a utility technician, you will provide mechanical expertise and cost‑effective solutions for multiple utility facility operating and construction projects that meet budget, quality, and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and perform repairs on mechanical equipment.
    • Boiler
    • Compressed Dry Air System
    • Chiller
    • HVAC
    • Piping, etc.
  • Preventive maintenance execution in order to complete all PM tasks.
  • Troubleshoot the abrupt breakdown of utility facilities.
  • Monitoring utility operation.
  • Demonstrate problem‑solving methodology and reduce a loss of utility cost.
  • Follow the work procedure and comply with safety & standard.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain cleanliness at work‑site in accordance with 5S3R Standards.
Qualifications

Trade School Certification in Mechanical Maintenance or related field or equivalent, relevant experience.

Experience

1 to 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting as a mechanical utility technician preferred.

Skills
  • Exposure in mechanical facilities setting, preferably in production facility.
  • Experienced with the handling of Utility Facilities.
  • Comfortable working independently and with others.
