Job summary

Do Epic Science is hiring a maintenance technician to assemble, install and service electromechanical systems and high-vacuum equipment. You’ll work on water, air, and cooling systems, and support new projects with hands-on parts selection and calibration.

Strong safety mindset and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are essential. The role requires 2–5 years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and proficiency with common hand and power tools.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in electromechanical maintenance.
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools and equipment calibration.
  • Experience with cranes and forklifts is preferred.
  • Able to work flexibly, independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with safety policies and promote a safe work environment.
  • Assemble, install and maintain electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic components to spec.
  • Assemble and maintain Ultra High Vacuum systems and assemblies.
  • Work on Deionized/Soft Water and compressed air systems; maintain chilled water.
  • Collaborate on new projects; advise on design, part selection and ordering.
  • Maintain documentation for specs, manuals and repairs.
  • Keep lab spaces clean and organized; rigging and moving heavy objects.
  • Operate cranes and forklifts; lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

About The Role
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures and work to proactively promote a safe work environment
  • Responsible for the assembly, installation and maintenance of electromechanical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic components to specification
  • Assemble, install, and maintain Ultra High Vacuum systems and assemblies
  • Assemble, install, and maintain Deionized and Soft Water systems
  • Assemble, install, and maintain compressed dry air systems
  • Maintain chilled water system
  • Work as part of a team on new projects: offer advice in design, selection and order of parts
  • Keep organized documentation pertaining to equipment specifications/manuals/files and repair documentation
  • Keep lab spaces clean and organized
  • Rigging, lifting, and general moving of heavy and complex shaped objects
About You
  • Required: 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Required: High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance, or other recognized qualifications gained in apprenticeship(s) or college preferred
  • Proficiency with common hand tools (wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, etc)
  • Proficiency with common power tools (impacts, sanders, grinders, etc)
  • Hands on experience in equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Experience with crane and forklift operation
Other Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Available to work flexible and extended hours as needed
  • Ability to multi-task and/or switch rapidly between assigned tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Able to complete assigned duties with general direction
  • Ability to learn and comply with all safety regulations
  • Able to work in confined spaces using appropriate safety equipment
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

At TAE Technologies, we consider a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and job-related knowledge, training; licenses and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements depending on the position offered (non-Sr., Sr., Lead or Manager). The compensation range for these roles are $35.00 - $42.00 an hour.
