What do our Aquatic Technicians do?

The primary purpose of this role is to preserve the natural ecological balance of our aquatic ecosystems while providing our clients with superior value and expertise in the field. Aquatic Technicians play a key role in preserving our environment. When these technicians service aquatics, it helps to ensure the health of the water and the safety of those who use it.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Operate a motorboat multiple times throughout the day and attach to assigned vehicle.
  2. Treat water for algae, submerged weeds, shoreline weeds, non-desirable buffer vegetation, and any other unwanted vegetation.
  3. Obtain water samples to send to the lab for water quality analysis.
  4. Provide superior service and fulfill all company contracts, service orders, and related customer needs.
  5. Remove nuisance, invasive vegetation through manual removal efforts (occasionally).
  6. Work with experienced Aquatic Specialists in the field to gain knowledge on servicing aspects of water body management.
  7. Communicate effectively with customers regarding the service.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Ability to follow established procedures and practices.
  2. Commitment to all health and safety guidelines.
  3. Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
  4. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  5. Mechanically inclined (preferred).
  6. Ability to operate trailers and aquatic vessels (preferred).
  7. Knowledge of aquatic vegetation (preferred).
  8. The work requires strenuous physical exertion and the employee may be required to drive, stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time, as well as see, talk, hear and use hands and arms to grasp, handle, reach, and feel.
  9. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

What do you need?

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. 1-2 years of experience working independently in an outdoor environment preferred.
  3. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  4. Strong written and verbal skills.
  5. Available to work Monday-Friday and weekends as needed.
  6. Must pass pre-employment background screen.
  7. Must possess a valid driver's license and pass motor vehicle record search.

Work Conditions:

  1. Mostly outside (without protection from weather; extreme heat-above 100 and/or cold-below 32 for more than one hour) environmental conditions.
  2. Hazardous physical conditions, such as mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights and scaffolding, chemical exposure, and/or high heat.
  3. Atmospheric conditions may affect the respiratory system or skin, such as fumes, mold, mist, gas, poor ventilation.
  4. Exposure to animals and insects.
  5. Meet physical requirements and/or pass medical certification in compliance with state and/or federal regulatory requirements and company safety policies relating to carrying and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to an OSHA compliant respirator.
