Job summary

CACI International Inc in Denver is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to design a large aperture antenna system and oversee its testing for a DoD customer. You will work in a cross-functional team on mechanical and electro-mechanical subsystems.

You will develop specs, CAD drawings, BOMs, and participate in design reviews, ensuring system performance and readiness for field deployment with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Aerospace Engineering or similar field from an ABET accredited university.
  • Experience and proficiency with 3D CAD software.
  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience operating rapid prototyping equipment such as CNC, Lathes, hand tools, 3D printers.
  • Willingness to travel ≤10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, develop, and evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical components and sub-systems with input from multidiscipline teammates.
  • Create detailed technical specifications, system diagrams, wiring diagrams, CAD designs, BOMs, etc. for large aperture antenna systems.
  • Develop and present design reviews to customers, ensuring clear communication of technical concepts.
  • Review test procedures for factory and site acceptance testing to ensure system quality and performance.
  • Prepare and review Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) to meet program documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate with technical support personnel regarding the mechanical portions of prototype testing.
  • Develop engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs that meet ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
  • Perform design trade studies, tolerance analysis, and material selection for demanding applications.
  • Participate in prototype builds, assembly, and troubleshooting of mechanical hardware.
  • Support and execute component- and system-level testing, including environmental testing (thermal, vibration, shock, etc.).

The Opportunity

CACI is seeking a systems engineer with a mechanical engineering emphasis. Join our team to create a complex mission critical communications system for our DoD customer. Your focus will be on design and creation of a large aperture antenna system and its subsequent technical and resilience testing. You will work in a cross-functional team, face difficult problems, and be expected to work independently with limited oversight.

The Proposed Salary Range For This Position Is

$63,800 - 127,500 USD
