Job summary

Fluor Corporation seeks a maintenance and operations supervisor/manager to coordinate multi‑contract maintenance activities and support small capital projects in the United States. You will supervise maintenance supervisors and project staff, lead root‑cause analyses, and drive process improvements to enhance service results.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily work with client operations, approving material requisitions, and ensuring adherence to OSR/OSIP requirements.

Qualifications

  • Accredited four‑year degree or global equivalent and six years of related experience, or ten years if non‑degreed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Familiar with Work Order Control (WOC) procedures and CMMS software.

Job Description
  • Responsible for coordinating the effective execution of all maintenance and operations support activities for a medium to large maintenance contract and/or small capital project.
  • Directly supervises maintenance supervisors and other project personnel as required.
  • Contribute to project effectiveness by assisting with the interpretation of engineering drawings, work orders, specifications and manufacturer’s technical data materials.
  • Lead root‑cause failure analysis teams by investigating and implementing countermeasures.
  • Improve service results by developing and implementing work process improvements in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Maintain workflow by approving completion process and stores requisitions for materials.
  • Ensure work is carried out in an efficient manner by coordinating daily work schedules with the customer’s operations, including personnel deployment, materials coordination, and information availability.
  • As directed fulfill contract and Operating System Requirements (OSR) and Operating System Implementation Plan (OSIP) requirements by ensuring that the duties and responsibilities of the project contract are clearly defined, documented and followed by the Fluor team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic Job Requirements
  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work‑related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non‑degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time‑conscious and time‑effective manner.
Other Job Requirements
  • Participate in project planning and estimating.
  • Perform Job Risk Analysis for out of norm work scopes.
  • Ensure that a contract summary is made available to, read, and understood by appropriate members of the site team.
  • Develop Key Result Areas (KRAs) in line with client, contract and operating company needs together with measurable performance indicators.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain plans for mobilization, Site Procedures Manual (SPM).
  • Develop estimates and written planning activities for electrical scopes and sequence the activities during schedule development.
  • Maintain effective schedule and cost control within assigned field functions of the project and ensure adherence to these practices.
  • Perform work in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost control estimates.
  • Control change/scope creep, ensuring that all scope changes are quickly and properly documented, and that change orders are approved prior to the performance of work.
  • Ensure that staff complete activities and work orders as scheduled each month.
  • Establish and ensure efficient utilization of staff.
  • Provide on‑the‑job and other formal training to staff in areas of specialization.
  • Provide data and reports as required, including formal studies and evaluations, planning work, preparing schematics and other various administrative functions such as status reports, equipment evaluations or scope of work for outside contractors.
  • Review and assess scope of authorized work and continually monitor job progress against plan.
  • Monitor work order (WO) implementation to ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Perform an audit function regularly to ensure Fluor standards of workmanship are achieved.
  • Review project status reports and direct the resolution of operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) to track all maintenance work, labor hours, work orders, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Accredited degree or global equivalent or minimum six (6) years of project and/or site management experience.
  • Recommend a minimum six (6) years of project and/or site management experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of facility management, including plant operations, maintenance, engineering, janitorial services, safety, grounds, and related services.
  • Ability to delegate tasks.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of Work Order Control (WOC) procedures and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Project experience.

The market rate for the role is typically at the mid‑point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
