Job summary

Crossland Heavy Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Trade Superintendent to lead a defined area of a project, coordinating field crews, safety, and scheduling. You will ensure quality workmanship, manage subcontractors, and document progress using Procore.

The role requires 5+ years in construction with a trade discipline, strong leadership, and the ability to travel to job sites. OSHA 30 or capable safety training is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience with a trade specialization.
• Experience leading crews or supervising work in a specific construction discipline.
• Competent person safety training and relevant certifications (Preferred).
• OSHA 30 certification (Preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Safety: coordinate with Foreman to plan crews safely and document toolbox meetings.
• Scheduling: assist in three-week area schedules and enforce production rates.
• Coordinate and supervise workforce within their area; set work pace and ensure progress.
• Develop Foremen and Engineers for career growth.
• Coordinate scheduling with subcontractors and participate in weekly meetings.
• Maintain daily reports, timesheets, and quantity data.
• Take daily/weekly photos for Procore documentation.
• Quality Control: ensure workmanship meets project standards.
• Protect and manage company assets, tools, and equipment.
• Order and manage equipment, supplies, forms and materials.

Position Summary

The Trade Superintendent is one that specializes in an area or discipline of work that CHC self performs. The Trade Superintendent is responsible for a specific area of the project and reports to the Superintendent and/or Senior Superintendent. The Trade Superintendents responsibilities are usually focused on one area or structure of the project but can be limited to one specific discipline such as concrete, mechanical, or pipe.

Essential Functions

• Safety – Coordinate with Foreman in the planning of accomplishing crews work in a safe manner. Assist in researching and presenting toolbox safety meetings for the entire job site.
• Must maintain competent person safety training and documentation.
• Scheduling – Assist the Superintendent and/or Senior Superintendent in setting the durations of the three-week schedule for their area or structure. Hold Foreman accountable for the production rates set forth in the variance and maintaining the three-week schedule for their area or structure.
• Coordinate and supervise company workforce in their area or structure. Setting the pace of work for their area or structure is a crucial function of their job.
• Develop Foreman, Senior Field Engineers, Field Engineers, and other skilled personnel.
• Assist in coordinating and scheduling subcontractors for their area or structure – Participate in weekly scheduling meetings with all subcontractors.
• Responsible for daily reports, timesheets, and assisting in gathering accurate quantities.
• Take daily and weekly photos for documentation purposes and upload them to Procore.
• Quality Control – Trade Superintendent is responsible for the quality of work being put in place for self-perform and subcontractors of work in their area or structure.
• Responsible for protection and care of company owned assets including tools and equipment.
• Responsible for ordering and managing equipment, supplies, forms and materials.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction with specialization in a trade discipline (e.g., concrete, mechanical, pipe)
• Experience leading crews or supervising work within a specific construction discipline
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and scope related to trade work
• Competent person safety training and relevant certifications (Preferred).
• OSHA 30 certification (Preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong leadership and crew management skills within a trade discipline
• Effective communication skills with field teams, subcontractors, and supervisors
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing specific to trade work
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings
• Working knowledge of scheduling, production tracking, and cost awareness.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety practices, and compliance requirements
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
