Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing seeks an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to lead fabrication and shop operations at our Indianapolis facility. This role oversees mechanical and pipe fabrication activities, manages skilled trades personnel, and drives safety and quality initiatives to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical construction, industrial fabrication, or manufacturing environments.
• Proven leadership experience in superintendent or shop manager roles.
• Strong knowledge of pipe fabrication, welding, and industrial mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and construction documents.
• Experience coordinating manpower, materials, and schedules; OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily mechanical fabrication, pipe fabrication, and structural shop operations.
• Supervise welders, pipefitters, fabricators, foremen, and skilled trades personnel.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and production schedules.
• Review fabrication drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
• Monitor productivity and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Project Managers, Engineering, and Operations teams to support project execution.
• Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and ensure OSHA compliance.
