Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Mechanical Senior Project Engineer in Detroit to lead the design of HVAC building systems for research, healthcare, and higher education facilities.

You will guide the design process, develop innovative solutions, and mentor project teams while maintaining strong client relationships. Ideal candidates have 15+ years of experience, PE registration, and proficiency with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience designing HVAC building systems for research, healthcare or higher education facilities.
  • Professional engineering registration required.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design programs (Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks) preferred.
  • BSME/BSAE or equivalent degree in engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall design process on assigned projects within the mechanical discipline.
  • Develop innovative design solutions aligned with project and client needs.
  • Mentor and lead project teams to implement design solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project partners.

As a Mechanical Senior Project Engineer in our Detroit office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

In this role, you will build and maintain relationships with clients and project partners and is responsible for the overall design process on assigned projects within a particular discipline. Within your role, you will also develop innovative and unique design solutions to align with project, client and project partner needs and leads the team in implementing solutions.

Expertise of our most successful Mechanical Senior Project Engineer:

    BSME/BSAE (or other engineering discipline with applicable experience).
  • 15+ years of experience designing HVAC building systems for research, Healthcare or Higher Education facilities.
  • Professional engineering registration required.
  • Proficiency in computer operation for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks) preferred.
