Job summary

Kosmos-Cement-Company-LL is seeking a Mechanical Repairman to join our maintenance team at a high-production cement plant. Under the supervision, you will address mechanical maintenance needs to keep the plant safe, efficient and reliable.

Responsibilities include welding, bearing installation, rotating machinery inspection, rigging, lubrication, and dust collector upkeep. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial environments and are comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in industrial cement/mining or heavy manufacturing preferred.
• Proficient in welding, cutting, fabrication, and installation of bearings.
• Ability to read mechanical and construction drawings.
• Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Welding, cutting, and fabrication.
• Installation of roller and Babbitt bearings.
• Equipment inspections for large rotating machinery (ball mills, impact crushers, rotary kilns, IDs, VRMs).
• Rigging of heavy machinery.
• Lubrication of rotating equipment.
• Dust collector maintenance.
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings and specs.
• Oxy-acetylene torch, arc gouging, and exothermic cutting.
• SMAW and GMAW welding.
• Installation of belt-fasteners for conveyors.
• Knowledge of pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, and dust collectors.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Repairman to join our maintenance team at a high-production cement plant. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the repairman is responsible for all mechanical maintenance needs throughout a cement plant that ensures safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Welding, cutting, and fabrication
• Installation of roller and Babbitt bearings.
• Equipment inspections for large rotating machinery (ball mills, impact crushers, rotary kilns, ID fans, vertical roller mills).
• Rigging of heavy machinery
• Lubrication of rotating equipment
• Dust collector maintenance.
• Interpretation of mechanical and construction drawings.
• Use of oxy-acetylene torch, arc gouging, and exothermic slicing
• SMAW and GMAW welding.
• Installation of mechanical conveyor belt fasteners.
• General knowledge of pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, and dust collectors.

Other Qualifications

• Certified mechanical journeymen in one of the following fields preferred
  • Millwright
  • Iron Work
  • Pipe fitting
• Precision alignment
• Use of precision measuring equipment
• Applicants must be comfortable working at elevated heights and in confined spaces, as these conditions are an essential part of the position. Employees must be able to safely perform job duties in these environments.
