Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Formal training or experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Maintenance Engineering or Maintenance Supervisor with 3–5 years of proven experience preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in preventive and predictive maintenance in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment; experience with high voltage, electrical and power supply and lead on project upgrades in a manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Design modifications and improvements for mechanical safety of equipment and facilities.
  • Conduct mechanical safety investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop, document and improve preventive maintenance programs to boost equipment availability and throughput.
  • Provide technical support and on‑call troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Analyze production delay data to plan maintenance tasks and drive continuous improvement.
  • Prepare root cause analyses and determine corrective actions with impact on PM programs.
  • Develop cost justifications for improvement projects and corrective actions.
  • Create and track work orders for improvements and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate outside contractors to minimize cost and production impact.
  • Oversee critical spare parts assessments and standardization.
  • Develop SOPs and training for electricians and technicians.
  • Establish performance metrics to support long‑term improvements.
  • Support problem resolution and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Perform Project Engineering duties.

Job Description

Responsible for mechanical maintenance engineering activities to maximize safety, quality and productivity in the daily maintenance of plant equipment in order to drive continuous improvements to equipment availability and throughput.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for mechanical safety design modifications and improvements to equipment and facilities.
  • Responsible for mechanical safety investigations and corrective actions.
  • Responsible for developing, documenting, and improving preventive maintenance programs in order to support the improvement of equipment availability and throughput.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment failures and loss of production. Assist maintenance and provide technical guidance required to return equipment to operation so as to minimize downtime and lost production. Provide “on call” support.
  • Responsible for analyzing production delay data for establishing and documenting or modifying preventive maintenance tasks. Generate continuous improvement projects based on production delay data.
  • Prepare and review equipment failure/root cause analysis reports and determine/evaluate corrective action items and the impact of corrective action items to the preventive maintenance programs.
  • Develop cost justifications for improvement projects and corrective actions.
  • Develop work orders to detail work requests needed to implement improvements projects or corrective actions. Follow-up and audit to ensure proper completion.
  • Coordinate outside contractor work activities with maintenance personnel or production personnel as required to minimize impacts to cost and production.
  • Responsible for critical spare parts assessments and parts standardization.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing standard operating procedures, training, and skill development for electricians and electronic technicians.
  • Determine and install appropriate performance metrics that will promote long-term continuous improvement programs consistent with the operating objectives of the department.
  • Provides support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
  • Perform Project Engineering duties.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    Formal training or experience with Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs.

    Maintenance Engineering or Maintenance Supervisor position with a minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience preferred

  • 5+ years experience in Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment; experience with high voltage, electrical and power supply and lead on project upgrades in a manufacturing facility.
