Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide quantity surveying for mechanical scopes of work on data center projects

• Collaborate with cost engineers and schedulers to integrate costs and schedules

Mechanical Quantity Surveyor - Data Center - Project Controls

Location: Houston, Texas

General Description Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide quantity surveying, for mechanical scopes of work.
• Analyze and prepare BOQs from submitted IFC drawings; validate reported contractor quantities
• Measure contractor progress on site and validate contractor progress claims
• Review and verify total installed quantities
• Develop custom progress reports/updates for critical work areas
• Work with the scheduling team to validate planned work sequences
• Assist with reviewing quantities and pricing for proposed change requests
• Attend progress/planning meetings, identify and report areas of concern
• Build good working relationships with key stakeholders
• Analyze project performance and productivity, validate reported contractor productivity

Quantity Tracking & Progress Measurement

• Establish quantity tracking systems for key project disciplines.
• Monitor installed quantities against estimate, budget, and schedule baselines.
• Verify contractor-reported progress and earned quantities.
• Support earned value management (EVM) and productivity analysis.
• Track quantity growth, scope changes, and field progress trends.
• Develop quantity-based performance and progress reports.

Project Controls Support

• Collaborate with cost engineer and scheduler to integrate quantities, costs, and schedules.
• Support forecasting of construction costs and productivity performance.
• Assist with monthly project controls reporting and management reviews.
• Identify cost and quantity variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain estimating and quantity tracking databases for future benchmarking.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or commensurate work experience in a construction role
• 8 or more years of experience in industrial construction of industrial facilities including data centers, power generation and LNG plants
• Experience in estimating, quantity surveying, project controls, or construction cost management
• Demonstrated technical and analytical skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6, Power BI, SAP or similar tools is preferred.
• Understanding of earned value management and project controls principles.
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work within a team with demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution
