Job summary

Prince Industries LLC is seeking a Mechanical Quality Inspector/CMM Operator to ensure product conformity through First Article inspections, following customer and Engineering drawings and specifications. You will coordinate receiving, in-process and final checks, documenting results in the Quality System Network.

The role requires GD&T expertise, proficiency with micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and optical inspection tools, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Requires GD&T experience and solid measurement-tool knowledge.
• Experience with micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and optical measurement equipment.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proven track record of maintaining accurate documentation within a Quality system.

Responsibilities

• Perform First Article Inspection and coordinate receiving, in-process and final inspections.
• Document results in Quality System Network and related logs/reports.
• Interpret customer and Engineering drawings and specifications to ensure conformity.
• Support investigation of non-conformities with Engineering and Manufacturing.

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Quality Inspector/CMM Operator is responsible for the First Article Inspection and ensures product conformity to establish requirements by evaluating product to customer and Engineering drawings, specifications, and other related documents. Coordinates the receiving, in-process and final product inspections, and documents results in various reports and logs in the Quality System Network.

Weekend Second Shift Hours: Friday - Sunday, 6:00pm - 6:30am

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Fundamental mechanical and mathematical inspection knowledge.
• Familiar with the use of all inspection hand gauging including but not limited to, micrometers, thread gauges, dial indicators, calipers, height gauges, etc.
• Ensure proper operation of measurement equipment by following operating instructions.
• Robust knowledge of GD&T, blueprint, and spec interpretation.
• Work and adhere to quality management systems and requirements (i.e., training, policies, procedures, document control)
• Assists Engineering and Manufacturing in the investigation of non-conformities.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following guidelines and procedures and complying with all applicable regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• GD&T Experience Required
• Experience with inspection equipment such as - Mics, Calipers, Opticals, and Micro heights.
• Extensive knowledge of software and database testing including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored jobs, and error replication.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to create test plans and cases from specifications or verbal communications.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

• Aerospace experience OR AS9100.
• Lean Manufacturing is a plus
• 5+ years preferred experience and /or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED required

• Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language. Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required.
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately in noisy environments.
• Must also have close, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus and judge depth. Color vision is required as well.

Compensation: $28 - $32/hr (based on experience)
