Job summary

GoldenWolf, LLC seeks a Mechanical Quality Assurance Engineer to support repair, renovation, and modernization efforts at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). This role provides onsite construction quality management, mechanical QA, contractor oversight, field inspections, and technical reviews for HVAC, steam, and utility infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering, or licensed Master Mechanical/HVAC Contractor.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical construction, renovation, or modernization experience.
• Experience with HVAC systems, mechanical infrastructure, and facility modernization projects.
• Familiarity with USACE EM 385-1-1 requirements.
• Ability to obtain CAC credentials and related background investigations.
• Ability to work on active construction sites and healthcare campuses.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical submittals, equipment data, shop drawings, and contractor documentation.
• Evaluate compliance with drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and federal standards.
• Review RFIs, contractor schedules, deficiency reports, and corrective action plans.
• Provide technical recommendations to government representatives.
• Conduct onsite inspections of HVAC, steam, and mechanical infrastructure projects.
• Verify contractor quality control activities and required testing.
• Monitor compliance with safety requirements and project specifications.
• Identify and report life-safety issues and construction deficiencies.
• Attend weekly project meetings and prepare inspection reports, minutes, and QA documentation.
• Support turnover, commissioning, punch-list verification, and project closeout activities.
