  • Independently select and specify conveyor types, third-party equipment, and systems to meet project requirements
  • Coordinate with electrical, controls, and structural engineers to ensure integrated design solutions
  • Deliver complete 3D models and manage clash detection for entire project areas

Project Execution and Delivery:

  • Execute and manage mechanical engineering deliverables, schedules, and quality standards
  • Coordinate with construction teams to resolve layout conflicts and ensure efficient installation
  • Lead communication with on-site construction teams, making decisions to address field issues
  • Produce complete installation packages ready for construction use
  • Monitor progress of engineers on the sub system team and ensure deliverables meet project timelines
  • Enter and peer review orders for mechanical equipment ensuring accurate and timely releases to manufacturing.

Technical Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Perform and validate all system and component calculations independently (throughput, motor power, belt pull, structural loads)
  • Engineer solutions for custom parts and non-standard applications
  • Directly mentor and guide engineers on technical approaches, design standards, and problem-solving methods
  • Review and approve work of junior engineers, providing constructive feedback and technical direction
  • Assign appropriate project tasks to team members based on their skill level and development needs
  • Teach best practices and help junior engineers build their technical capabilities

Quality Ownership and Problem-Solving:

  • Ensure and validate that mechanical designs meet all safety, regulatory, and performance standards
  • Review engineering calculations, designs and equipment orders for accuracy and completeness before submission
  • Identify and resolve design issues proactively during all project phases
  • Drive improvements based on lessons learned and apply to current work
  • Make technical decisions with input from senior engineers as needed and document rationale for installation teams

If you're a driven Mechanical Engineer who thrives on delivering complex projects while developing others, we want to hear from you!

Key job responsibilities

  • Review and approve calculations performed by Level 4 engineers with assistance from senior engineers
  • Engineer custom parts needed for non-standard design applications
  • Apply safety regulations and ergonomic standards
  • Create complete conveyor manifests meeting electrical and controls requirements
  • Document all engineering decisions through complete installation files and clear instructions
  • Oversee deliverables of junior engineers, ensuring quality and completeness
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers on complex design challenges with assistance from senior engineers
  • Travel to sites to conduct surveys, audits, and resolve field issues
  • Lead installation support and commissioning activities for your projects
  • Develop engineers through hands-on mentorship and feedback
