Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Project Engineering team, contributing to the design and integration of hardware and software for automated material handling systems. You will collaborate with customers and multi-discipline teams to drive projects from concept through implementation.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, detail drawing, and cost/productivity improvements, with opportunities to travel to customer locations up to 25% and work across a global engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
• 0-2 years of successful experience in related field; advanced degree may substitute for experience.
• Proficient in 3D modeling software and AutoCAD.
• Experience in Material Handling/automation industry.
• Experience in a Mechanical Engineering position that is project-based (design to installation).

Responsibilities

• Complete the design of sophisticated systems that integrate hardware and software.
• Complete sophisticated material specification, layout/drawing preparation, and appropriate follow-up.
• Complete recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
• Perform complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.
• Identify and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations.
• Project Engineering and Commissioning at customer sites.
• Communicate, train, and work with customer for final system design TravellS up to 25% to different customer locations/Dematic locations

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $57,375 - $84,150 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

What We are Looking For:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• 0-2 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree maybe substituted for experience
• Proficient in 3D modeling software and AutoCAD
• Experience in Material Handling/automation industry
• Experience in a Mechanical Engineering position that is project-based (design to installation)
