Job summary

Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C., a Syracuse-based multi‑disciplinary engineering firm, seeks a Mechanical Engineer for its New York and Pennsylvania offices. The role provides high‑level services across municipal, commercial, private and industrial facilities, with growth opportunities and a collaborative culture.

The successful candidate will design and manage projects in chilled/hot water, HVAC, controls, plumbing and fire protection, applying standards such as ASHRAE and pursuing PE licensure.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 5–10 years of consulting experience on municipal, commercial, private, or industrial facilities.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to design and manage small to large projects.
• Knowledge across mechanical engineering domains including HVAC, fluid dynamics and building codes.

We are currently seeking a resourceful, self-motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer with the ability to provide high-level engineering services for a broad range of clientele. Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years of diverse consulting engineering experience on municipal, commercial, private, and/or industrial facilities projects. Candidates should possess acute analytical skills, the capability to design and manage small to large projects, and a comprehensive technical background across all facets of mechanical engineering.

Specific areas of expertise could include:

• chilled water systems,
• hot water systems,
• industrial process related mechanical,
• building HVAC,
• controls,
• plumbing systems and fire protection.

Excellent communication and writing skills are essential to accomplish synergistic interaction with both technical clients and co-worker/staff. Software capabilities must include Microsoft Office platform, AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design/energy analysis software (e.g. Carrier HAP). Technical capabilities must include a strong working knowledge in the application of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, mechanical power systems, digital control systems, building codes and industry standards such as ASHRAE. Additionally, a broad familiarity with the work of other project team members, including architects and structural, electrical and civil engineers is desired to allow for effective, integrated and well-coordinated project design solutions.

This position will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to develop and manage dynamic, challenging projects that incorporate innovative and unique goals and objectives. Additional industry certifications, including Certified Energy Manager or LEED AP, are considered a plus. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in NY or PA (or eligibility to obtain) is desired.
