Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer with over 8 years of experience. Responsibilities include performing engineering calculations, designing systems, and leading project teams while ensuring adherence to quality standards. Ideal candidates will possess strong critical thinking skills and be proficient in REVIT and engineering modeling tools. Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of work experience.
  • Shall be a licensed engineer (PE).

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and layout and design systems.
  • Apply practical knowledge and experience to resolve problems and conflicts.
  • Make independent decisions for engineering tasks.
  • Supervise personnel or assist other engineers.
  • Meet with Project Engineer and Project Manager to discuss design.
  • Prepare design budgets and schedules.
  • Estimate man-hours to complete design requirements.
  • Provide leadership and assign job functions to designers.
  • Implement system types and provide construction documents.
  • Review engineering design with other disciplines.
  • Perform final review of engineering drawings.
  • Client contact and quality assurance.
  • Mentor and motivate Engineering designers.
  • Set high standards for the company and client.
  • Meet deadlines while maintaining quality.

About the Role

Individuals assigned to this classification will perform engineering calculations and must be able to layout and design systems in accordance with established policies, standards, procedures, code and shall exercise judgment in their application with minimal to no supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering calculations and layout and design systems.
  • Apply practical knowledge and experience to resolve problems and conflicts related to assigned projects.
  • Make independent decisions for engineering tasks on assigned projects.
  • Occasionally supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers or designers.
  • Meet with the Project Engineer and Project Manager to discuss design scope, schedule, budget, phasing, site issues, and design review issues.
  • Work with Project Manager and Project Engineer to prepare design budgets and schedules.
  • Estimate discipline man-hours required to complete design requirements.
  • Provide leadership and assign design job functions to designated designers.
  • Implement system types as selected by the Project Engineer and provide complete construction documents.
  • Review preliminary and final engineering design with other disciplines.
  • Perform a final review of engineering drawings.
  • Client contact and quality assurance on projects.
  • Mentor and motivate Engineering designers I, II, and III.
  • Set high standards and seek the best interest of the company and client.
  • Meet fast‑paced deadlines while maintaining quality design.
  • Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience.
  • Shall be a licensed engineer (PE).
