Job summary

Power Design, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Project Coordinator to support the Mechanical Change Order Estimating team, coordinating project information and assisting with estimate preparation for multifamily and commercial projects.

You will work with experienced estimators, review drawings and specs, perform takeoffs, source vendors, and help deliver accurate, timely pricing and handoff of awarded work in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent mechanical construction experience.
  • 1–3 years of mechanical estimating experience, preferably supporting multifamily, commercial, or design-build projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Accubid or other estimating software is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment while managing competing priorities.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and efficient.
  • A motivated problem solver with a strong customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project information and maintain estimating timelines throughout the estimating process.
  • Receive new project documents and conceptually understand the project, including building type, mechanical systems, key scope elements, and change order requirements.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to assist with quantity takeoffs and estimate preparation.
  • Perform necessary research to support accurate, complete, and competitive pricing.
  • Source, contact, and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate with customers and internal project teams to define project scope, resolve deficiencies, and support pricing efforts.
  • Maintain organized estimating files, track project milestones, and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure the successful handoff of awarded change order work.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of mechanical systems, estimating processes, and Power Design’s preconstruction operations.

About the Position

The Mechanical Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Mechanical Change Order Estimating team by coordinating project information, assisting with estimate preparation, and ensuring accurate and timely project deliverables. Here’s What We’re Looking For
