Northrop Grumman Marine systems is seeking a Mechanical Production Engineer Level 2/3 on site in Sunnyvale, CA to participate in the development and ongoing support of new and existing steam turbine and gearbox designs used in surface ship and submarine propulsion and power generation systems of the US Navy. The role requires the application of engineering principles and industry practice in the design of turbine and gear components and subsystems, development of design concepts and repair solutions, performance of trade studies, and support of evaluations and analyses. The engineer will participate in detail design, drawing development, design reviews, release for manufacture, and follow-through of test and production phases, and will prepare and present formal technical briefings as required.
This position focuses on rotating machinery design and general design engineering, including ship and submarine propulsion and power generation systems involving steam turbines, gearboxes and generator sets. Activities include developing new designs from concept through detailed design, manufacture, and test phases, and supporting manufacturing activities on existing production contracts.
Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 – $125,200.00.
Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 – $155,400.00.
Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and share in company results. Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long‑Term Incentives.
