Daimler Truck North America LLC. is seeking a Mechanical Product Design Engineer I in Portland, OR. Hybrid schedule (4 days in-office, 1 day remote) with a focus on designing coolant systems and integration hardware for regulatory compliance, fuel economy, durability and reliability.

The engineer will create 3D models using Siemens NX, maintain drawings with GD&T, and work across product design, validation, compliance, manufacturing, sales and marketing to optimize costs and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with quality.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of engineering upstream and downstream processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop coolant systems plumbing, tanks, vent lines and integration hardware.
• Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, and GD&T using NX.
• Continuously improve product quality, tools, and processes.
• Engage in cost and complexity optimization initiatives.
• Respond to Custom Work Orders, Plant Build issues and Customer Field Concerns.
• Interface with product design, validation engineering, compliance, manufacturing, sales and marketing; collaborate with suppliers.
