The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $109,134-180,071/year. New hires are typically brought into the organization with a starting pay between $115,000-135,000/year, based on experience and education. Employees’ physical work location is based upon the position’s job duties and requirements, customer service and responsiveness, team and individual performance, and business needs and requirements. Our current practice requires in-office work for all employees for a minimum of three days per week. Business needs and initial onboarding may require additional days in the office.

As the Mechanical & Plumbing Plans Review Engineer, you will perform advanced professional engineering work in the following areas directly related to Denver International Airport (“DEN”) projects as well as projects not related to DEN.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional engineering experience after obtaining a Professional Engineering (PE) license. (Some positions may require experience in a specific engineering area). Additional directly related engineering/architecture experience can be substituted for up to two (2) years of the three (3) years of post-licensed experience.
Education/Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for experience requirements.
License/Certifications: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
Requires registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Colorado State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers at the time of application.
Registration in another state will be accepted in lieu of this requirement, provided that the applicant has Colorado registration at completion of probation.
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
