Job summary

Alliance Engineers & Project Consultants, LLC seeks an experienced draftsman to support engineers with CAD work and field data. You will draft from sketches, create 3D models, and produce precise drawings from 3D scans, ensuring conformance to standards.

You will collaborate with multiple disciplines, perform field measurements, and help maintain high design quality while adhering to project schedules. This on-site Beaumont role requires strong drafting skills.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to take direction and draft from sketches under engineer guidance.
• Experience gathering field data with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and understand civil, piping, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Familiarity with drafting standards and codes and ability to adapt procedures.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD drawings using AutoCAD, Plant3D or equivalent 3D tools.
• Develop plans, sections, details, or 3D models from sketches or scans.
• Layout and dimension drawings from 3D models; extract drawings.
• Perform field measurements and produce supporting sketches.
• Ensure compliance with specs and procedures and maintain design quality.

Job description

·Ability to receive direction of drafting by preparing sketches and drawing layouts under the direction of an engineer or design specialist.

·Ability to perform field data gathering with little to no supervision.

·Interaction with other disciplines.

Duties

·Computer-aided drafting – AutoCAD, Plant3D, or similar 3D software.

·Developing plans, sections, details, or 3D models from sketches and/or 3D scans.

·Drawing layout, dimensioning, and extraction of drawings from 3D model.

·Field measurements and sketches.

·Ensure that all specifications and standard procedures are followed, high design quality is maintained, and that production is set at an acceptable level.

• Located in the Beaumont office with some onsite plant work when visiting client site
• May walk stairs, platforms, scaffolds when visiting client sites
• 0-10% Only when visiting client sites

Required education and experience:

• Vocational Drafting School
• Vocational CAD Training
• 3-8 years minimum experience
