Job summary

MGC Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Pipefitter for our Utah Division in the Eagle Mountain area to install piping and equipment on water/wastewater projects.

You will read blueprints, lay out piping, supervise safety on site, and assist the Project Superintendent with labor monitoring. This full-time role requires hands-on installation experience and adherence to safety protocols in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least five (5) years of piping and equipment installation experience on water/wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

• Review and comprehend blueprint drawings and specifications.
• Lay out large and small diameter piping and equipment such as clarifiers, filters, and pumps.
• Help monitor on-site safety for all personnel and subcontractors.
• Assist the Project Superintendent with labor monitoring.
• Understand equipment installation, alignment, and anchoring processes.
• Knowledge of crane rigging and signaling.
• Familiarity with process piping materials (PVC, steel, SST, DIP).
• Operate forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift as needed.
• Perform any other duties assigned.

MGC Contractors, Inc is looking for a Mechanical Pipefitter to join our Utah Division in the Eagle Mountain area.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Review and comprehend blueprint drawings and specifications
• Have the ability to lay out large and small diameter mechanical piping, and equipment such as Clarifier, Filters, Chemical Rooms, Aeration Basin System, Influent Fine Screens, and Pumps.
• Help monitor safety for all on-site personnel and subcontractors.
• Help the Project Superintendent monitor project labor.
• Understanding the process of equipment installation, alignment, and anchoring.
• Knowledge of crane rigging and signaling.
• Knowledge of different types of process piping materials and connections, PVC, Steel, SST, and DIP.
• Knowledge of forklift, scissor lift and boom lift operations.
• Any and all other duties assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This position operates at professional construction sites, requiring the ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone. The ability to read printed materials, signs and directions. The stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions, ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner. The position requires working outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures. While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

• This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime, weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least Five (5) years of experience installing piping and equipment on multi-functional water/wastewater projects required.
