Job summary

Stellar Energy Americas Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Pipe Fitter to join our Jacksonville facility. The role requires hands-on experience with piping systems, valves, pumps and related components, and the ability to read blueprints and measurements accurately.

The position is on-site in Jacksonville, FL or Fort Worth, TX, with first shift hours and potential overtime. Strong focus on safety, quality and collaboration within a fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of threading, grinding, welding, brazing, rigging, plasma cutting, and gas arc cutting.
• Fluent in hydro process for 150 PSI testing and inspections.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Pipefitting.
• Knowledge of datum lining, piping center lines and work points.
• Excellent attention to detail, basic math and tape measuring skills.
• Physically able to wear required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Understand job specifications, blueprint reading, target point measurements and torque requirements for large industrial piping systems.
• Work with datum lining and center lines; install valves, diffusers, pumps and related piping components to complete a piping system.
• Rig piping and supports, manage overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
• Ensure quality, safety and health standards; document quality reporting per SEA standards.
• Assist and guide two or more helpers and comply with all policies and OSHA requirements.
• Prepare for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Summary Objective

To have experienced working knowledge of mechanical equipment and piping installation and the various terminologies, blue print reading, measurement’s, setting equipment/piping, job specifications, etc., to build an integrally complete piping system.

Essential Functions

• Fluent in understanding job specification, blue print reading, target point measurements and torque requirements for large industrial piping systems.
• Hands on working knowledge of datum lining, Equipment/Piping center lines and work points.
• Technically proficient in the installation of various valves, suction diffusers, guides, circuit setters, expansion tanks, pumps, chillers, automatic air vents, pressure regulators, etc. to make a complete piping system.
• Installation knowledge of all forms of piping system hangers, supports, braces, etc., from temporary through jam nut completion.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solver who can understand and follow instruction.
• Accountability for completion of daily work assignments while monitoring quality, safety and health regulations.
• Documentation of all quality reporting methods employed per SEA Quality Standards
• Operate overhead cranes and or forklifts, while adhering to industry standard practices of safe rigging systems and techniques.
• Safely and efficiently direct and monitor two or more helpers.
• Complies with all company policies, procedures and safety requirements and physically / medically qualified to wear required PPE per OSHA standards.
• Be fluent in all hydro process for 150psi testing and inspections.
• Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Work Location

This position will work out of our facilities in Jacksonville, FL or Fort Worth, TX. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely.

Work Environment

This position operates out of a fabrication facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. First shift days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel is primarily not required with exception to local travel during the business day.

Required Education and Experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

• A minimum of 8 years related experience or training
