Job summary

Mariana Minerals is seeking a Maintenance Technician, Mechanical to support safe, reliable operation of process and utility equipment at Lithium One in Joaquin, TX. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, and other rotating equipment, and help build the maintenance program from the ground up.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, strong mechanical skills, and experience reading P&IDs, schematics, and blueprints.

Qualifications

• Technical or trade school training in industrial maintenance or mechanical technology, or equivalent experience.
• Proven industrial maintenance experience, 3+ years.
• Hands-on experience with piping and with pump, motor, and valve rebuild and repair.
• Experience in an oil & gas, water treatment, chemical processing, or similar industrial setting.
• Working knowledge of electrical and basic instrumentation systems, including motor starters and control circuits.
• Ability to read P&IDs, schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, with comfort using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and basic rigging.
• Strong communication across shifts and CMMS experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, conveyors, blowers, compressors, and other rotating and process equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues across the plant, finding root causes and making timely repairs.
• Keep production steady by minimizing downtime and ensuring work meets manufacturer specs and quality standards.
• Document inspections, calibration, lubrication, and recommend equipment for preventive maintenance programs.
• Read P&IDs, schematics, and blueprints; requisition parts and materials; log work and equipment condition in CMMS.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and electrical/controls teams during start-up, shutdown, and change-out activities.
• Follow OSHA and safety procedures; participate in safety meetings and report hazards or damage promptly.

The Maintenance Technician, Mechanical supports safe, reliable operation of our process and utility equipment at Lithium One in Joaquin, TX. In this role, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, conveyors, blowers, compressors, and other rotating equipment, then respond to unplanned breakdowns and trace problems to the root cause. You will play a critical role in keeping production steady and downtime low, and you will have a real hand in building our maintenance program from the ground up, including finding ways to simplify or automate repetitive maintenance tasks. As a startup, the first 6-8 months will include work beyond your mechanical specialty, such as electrical and instrumentation support, so the ideal fit is someone who loves variety and wants to build something.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, conveyors, blowers, compressors, and other rotating and process equipment

• Troubleshoot and diagnose planned and unplanned equipment issues across the Lithium One plant, finding the root cause and making timely repairs

• Keep production steady by minimizing downtime and completing work to manufacturer specifications and quality standards

• Perform and document accurate inspections, calibration, and lubrication on process and utility equipment, and recommend equipment for inclusion in preventive maintenance programs

• Read P&IDs, schematics, and blueprints, requisition parts and materials, and log work, parts used, and equipment condition in our in-house CMMS

• Work with operations, engineering, and the electrical and controls techs to support start-up, shutdown, and change-out activities, and communicate potential hazards to engineers, electricians, and operators

• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures (including lockout/tagout, confined space, and traffic rules), actively participate in safety meetings, and immediately report hazards, near misses, or equipment damage while ensuring operations meet environmental and regulatory standards

Qualifications & Experience

• Technical or trade school training in industrial maintenance or mechanical technology preferred (or equivalent experience)

• Proven industrial maintenance experience, 3+ years

• Hands-on experience with piping and with pump, motor, and valve rebuild and repair on rotating and process equipment

• Experience in an oil & gas, water treatment, chemical processing, or similar industrial setting (oil & gas highly preferred; hydrometallurgy, mining, or battery materials experience is a plus)

• Working knowledge of electrical and basic instrumentation systems, including motor starters and control circuits

• Ability to read P&IDs, schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals

• Strong mechanical aptitude, with comfort using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and basic rigging

• Strong communication across shifts and good computer skills; CMMS experience preferred

• Valid driver's license

Schedule
12-hour shifts (6am-6pm): Sunday-Tuesday plus every other Wednesday, or Thursday-Saturday plus every other Wednesday. A night rotation will be added in the near future.

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work in the processing plant and shop, in all weather conditions including extreme temperatures, with exposure to chemicals and other hazardous materials

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and to stand, walk, and work in confined or elevated spaces for extended periods

• Ability to climb ladders and structures, with the manual dexterity to use hand and power tools

• Must wear and use all required PPE
