Mission Pharmacal in San Antonio, TX seeks a Maintenance Technician I to assist upper-level technicians in observing, troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment under supervision. You’ll help with disassembly/assembly, metal fabrication, restocking parts, and maintaining clean work areas while complying with cGMP, SOPs and safety guidelines.

High school diploma or GED and 1–3 months related experience required.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Provides support to upper-level Mechanical Maintenance Technicians II and performs basic mechanical maintenance tasks under supervision.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the essential duties summarized above and possess the skills and competencies summarized herein. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training.


ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Mechanical aptitude. Ability to operate a forklift, and TIG weld is a plus.


COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Must be able to (i) read and understand technical documents, such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; (ii) write routine reports and correspondence; (iii) effectively communicate information and respond to questions, orally and in writing, in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.


MATHEMATICAL AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs. Ability to perform operations using weight measurement and volume.


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasionally move up to 1600 pounds using a manual pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
