Job summary

Principle Business Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift to service presses and perform all facilities maintenance. The role focuses on safety, continuous improvement, and producing high‑quality products that support caregivers and patients.

You will work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, utilizing electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic skills to keep equipment running and to lead preventative maintenance activities.

Qualifications

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 years related experience and/or training.
  • Two-year technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preventive maintenance planning and execution.
  • Perform die changes, machine setup, and minor repairs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using standard test equipment.
  • Verify fixes and document corrective actions; sign out replaced parts.
  • Support TPM/Six-Sigma initiatives to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for Service machines, repair presses as needed and perform all facilities maintenance including low voltage electrical, plumbing, etc.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
  • Works with complex systems or performs highly technical mechanical or diagnostic tests.
  • Performs and analyzes tests to track results and make improvements.
  • Accurately compiles data.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Trained in lockout/tagout and is safety conscious.
  • Proficient use of all shop tools, fabrication and metallurgy knowledge.
  • Refine PM packages with additions / pictures to complete the detail required to perform task.
  • Daily walk‑thru assigned machines with the Operator looking at the condition of the machine and jointly completing the key component audit.
  • Participate on and with the TPM team, aiding in identification and resolution of downtime issues.
  • Work with Maintenance Lead and TPM Coordinator to identify preventative maintenance items requiring planning and action; perform preventive maintenance.
  • Implement measures to reduce or eliminate unplanned maintenance.
  • On assigned maintenance days, lead the pre-staging of preventative maintenance parts, distribution of duties, monitoring timelines, and ensuring Production team accepts the completion of maintenance activities. Leads the critique of maintenance days to identify how to continually improve.
  • Verify fixes, identified in the daily off‑shift “call to the line reports, were completed; create plan to implement correct fix, if not handled satisfactorily.
  • Correctly sign out parts.
  • Change dies, perform machine set ups, & adjust machinery.
  • Trouble shoot using electrical test equipment, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, & general machine repair skills.
  • Provide normal maintenance operations on a daily basis.
  • Account for and record parts and supplies used for repair of equipment and plant utilities.
  • Be able to open factory, prepare presses, bag machines and other equipment needing pre‑production preparation.
  • Perform maintenance repair tasks on all production machinery & plant equipment and facilities.
  • Build new equipment and modify existing equipment.
  • Interpret work orders to determine machine repairs and material requirements.
  • Read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions & procedure manuals).
  • Fill out routine reports and communicate effectively.
  • Calculate figures & amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Be an active team member for Kaizen and Six‑Sigma events that define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret extensive varieties of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form & deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Utilize common sense to understand and carry out detailed but non‑complex written and/or oral instructions.
  • Use basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, units of measurement, whole numbers, common fractions, & decimals).
  • Be a problem solver.
  • Be a team player and help others when asked or needed.
  • Communicate in a positive, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Be Dependable- be on time every day and do as requested.
  • Must use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for this position as indicated on the Job Assessment for PPE form.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good attendance record required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Excellent mechanical skills desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have close, distance, color, & peripheral vision abilities along with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
