Ormat Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician in Reno, NV to perform essential maintenance, welding, fabrication, and troubleshooting to support geothermal plant operations.

The role requires following safety procedures, reading technical diagrams, and traveling to project sites as needed. Qualifications include 1 year of mechanical maintenance experience, ability to read diagrams, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Three to four years of high school education equivalent.
• One year of experience in mechanical maintenance or related field.
• Ability to read piping and instrumentation diagrams and one-line diagrams.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position mustbe able to perform the essential functions below.The Technician works under close supervision, performing the essential functions at an adequate level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Observe and followOrmat’senvironmental and operational rules,proceduresand guidelines
• Strictly adhere to and enforce safety procedures as required by ORMAT, CAPP, and OSHA
• Responsible for welding and fabrication of pipe spools, flanges, fittings and structural items
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical equipment as required to support plant operations
• Perform routine andpreventative maintenance tasks
• Provide recommendations for improvements
• Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner, enter and exit vehicle without assistance, remain alert while driving for continuous period of time and read and understand maps
• Must be able to operate a forklift, crane, rig loads and/or a backhoe
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays when necessary
• Must be able to work overtime as required
• Must be able to travel extensively to other locations, including ruralareas to work on other projects

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform environmentaland general housekeeping duties
• Attend MonthlySafety and Maintenance training
• Ability to respond to emergency calls
• Provide coaching and guidance to junior Mechanical Maintenance Technicians.
• Process work orders, assist in inventory, and requisitioning of parts and supplies
• Search for and eliminate organizational weaknesses and jobsite conditions that create conditions for error.
• Periodically observe fellow maintenance technicians while performing work activities to ensure proper procedures, techniques, and safety guidelines are being followed.
• Participate in regular training to improve performance, acquire professional licenses, and maintain certification required by Ormat and government regulations.
• Perform other duties as directed

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• The ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the areas of assignment as would be acquired in three to four years of high school
• One (1) year of experience in the mechanical maintenance or other relevant field
• Hands-on experience in operations, maintenance and project implementation related to power production, turbine-generators, and auxiliary equipment.
• The ability to read technical documentation such as piping and instrumentation diagrams, one-line diagrams, and design and analysis reports.
• Ability to methodically troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems.
• Must have the ability to read, write and speak English at a level that will permit the employee to understand and communicate information in a manner that will enable the employee to safely and efficiently perform the job duties
• Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spread sheets,databaseand presentation. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and use of the Internet
• Must possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable toORMAT’s auto insurance carrier
• Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner
• May be required to obtain a Class B orClass A CDL – Tank Endorsement

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• The ability to lifta minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions and 75 pounds from the floor to the waist
• Must be able to climb ladders, climb to and workoffofelevatedplatforms, ladders and walkways
• Must be able to work in confined spaces, heights exceeding 10feet,andin harsh weather conditions
• Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties
• Work is subject to exposure to hazardous chemicals, electrical currents, gases, dust, and noxious odors.
• Job requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time with moderatebending, stooping, and kneeling
