Job summary

Coeur Mining, Inc. seeks a 2026 Intern to gain hands-on experience and contribute to cutting-edge mining projects at the Wharf mine in South Dakota. You will be exposed to various aspects of mining operations and develop a well-rounded understanding of the industry.

Interns will collaborate to create a group presentation on a company area of improvement, and the summer program culminates with an expenses-paid Chicago trip to meet leaders and network with peers across the company.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or master’s degree in required field.
• Follow all procedures and safety measures to assure safe production.
• Work in all conditions and environments, varying amount of time on the job is outdoors.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
• Able to walk up and down slopes and uneven ground daily.
• Strong academic performance in relevant coursework.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

We are a U.S.-based, well-diversified, growing precious metals producer with seven wholly-owned operations: the New Afton gold-copper mine in British Columbia, Canada, the Rainy River gold-silver mine in Ontario, Canada, the Las Chispas silver-gold mine in Sonora, Mexico, the Palmarejo gold-silver mine in Chihuahua, Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. Coeur Wharf is an open-pit, heap-leach gold operation and the only gold mine operating in South Dakota. Located in the northern Black Hills, Wharf is the only known operating mine that shares a hillside with a ski resort, Terry Peak.

Coeur Wharf has been part of the local community since 1983, actively volunteering and supporting the arts, educational programs, beautification events and children’s and wellness programs.

Each intern will be creatively and technically working together to create a group presentation, highlighting a company area of improvement. The summer internship experience truly culminates with all interns traveling for an expenses paid trip to Chicago! This includes each group presenting their project, meeting and learning from key company leaders, as well as networking with their fellow bright early careers participants across the company.
