Job summary

Amphenol Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Integrity Engineer for the Cable Backplane Connector team in Valley Green, PA. The role focuses on mechanical testing, qualification of connectors, and reliability analysis to support high-speed interconnects.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience, solid modeling skills (Pro/E/SolidWorks), and familiarity with FEA tools such as ANSYS. Collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 years of professional experience.
• Experience with solid modeling tools - Pro/E and/or SolidWorks.
• Experience with data analysis software, MS Excel, Minitab would be a plus.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools desirable, ANSYS experience would be a plus.
• Understand how to replicate international standards for testing.
• Understanding of electrical systems and electrical connectors.
• Understand how to perform failure analysis, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA.
• Ability to communicate with technical & non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work in team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop test sequences and procedures to determine long-term reliability.
• Process and analyze testing results, and create reports and presentations for internal and external customers.
• Support the product design effort in mechanical analysis such as tolerance analysis, FEA, materials analysis, failure analysis and DFMEA.
• Prepare test samples and test requests, design and fabricate test fixtures, interface with test lab technicians.
• Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing personnel, supporting the development and validation of product prototypes through pilot production, as well as interfacing with beta-site customers.

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Integrity Engineer to join our Cable Backplane Connector team. The position will be located in Valley Green, PA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop new products and processes via mechanical testing and qualification of electrical connectors and components.
• Develop test sequences and procedures to determine the long-term reliability of electrical connectors that factor in customer use and application requirements.
• Process and analyze testing results, and create reports and presentations for internal and external customers.
• Support the product design effort in mechanical analysis such as tolerance analysis, FEA, materials analysis, failure analysis and creating test plans.
• Prepare test samples and test requests, design and fabricate test fixtures, interface with test lab technicians.
