Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced HVAC/mechanical design engineer in Houston to oversee projects from development through completion.

You will design, engineer, and manage HVAC systems for various projects, including retrofits and upgrades, while performing energy/load calculations and equipment selections. Strong communication and team mentorship will be important in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Registered Professional Engineer with 4+ years of project experience.
• Experience with load calculations and duct sizing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products.
• Revit experience is encouraged.
• 5+ years of experience in MEP design.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HVAC design from initial development through project completion.
• Design, engineer, and manage HVAC/mechanical systems for new installations, retrofits, replacements, and upgrades.
• Perform energy and load calculations, flow/pressure calculations, and equipment selection/ specification.
• Coordinate field investigations, construction administration, and client meetings.

Responsibilities

This role involves overseeing the mechanical HVAC design for projects, working closely with the Project Manager from theinitialdevelopment phase through to project completion.

This role requires a self-motivated individual to design, engineer, and manage HVAC and mechanical systems for various projects, including new installations, system retrofits, replacements, and upgrades.

Key responsibilities include overseeing and implementing energy and load calculations, flow and pressure calculations, equipmentselectionand specification, system design and layout, field investigations, and construction administration.

You will regularlyinterface withclients, attend meetings and presentations, and mustpossessstrong communicationskills. This position also offers the opportunity to manage an engineering team and mentor junior engineers. You can expect to work on a diverse range of projects, including those in Aviation, Healthcare, Higher Education, Water/Wastewater, Multi-Family Housing, Transportation, Public Safety, Office, light industrial buildings, and more.

Qualified candidates will have:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
