Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Foreman to lead the Sort Line Department in our New York facility. This role coordinates staffing with the Sort Line Subcontractor, performs essential maintenance, and enforces safety and compliance across operations.

The ideal candidate brings extensive industrial mechanical experience, strong leadership, and a track record of maintaining equipment with minimal downtime. This position is based on-site with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 10+ years of experience in industrial mechanical skills, preferably in recycling.
• At least 3 years in a Maintenance Supervisory role.
• Strong communication, problem solving, decision making and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance of Sort Line and Yard equipment with minimal downtime.
• Develop a preventive maintenance strategy for Sort Line.
• Maintenance record keeping and documentation.
• Ensure safe operations.
• Train Operators on basic maintenance.

Job description

Incentive Pay: Monthly and Quarterly averages up to 20% above base salary.

FLSA: Salary Non-Exempt

We are searching for a hands-on Mechanical Forman who will be responsible for the Sort Line Department. The position has no direct reports; however, you will be required to coordinate staffing needs with Sort Line Subcontractor.

• Develop a preventive maintenance strategy for Sort Line.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must have, at least, 10 years of experience utilizing industrial mechanical skills, preferably in a recycling environment.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Maintenance Supervisory role.
• Along with strong communication skills, must possess excellent problem solving skills, decision making ability and strong leadership skills

The ideal candidate should have heavy industrial and multiple craft technicalexperience in general mechanics. Experience in the recycling industries.
