Job summary

Branch Builds, Inc. in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a dependable Foreman to supervise craft activities and support project leadership on a federal project. This role requires oversight of safety, planning, and coordination with the Superintendent to achieve project goals.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of prior construction experience.
  • Journeyman’s license in related trades (if applicable).
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and Branch-approved status.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to pass federal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise craft activities to ensure productivity and compliance.
  • Plan daily work with Superintendent and meet project goals.
  • Ensure proper storage of materials and equipment.
  • Enforce safety guidelines and OSHA requirements.
  • Preplan and schedule activities; mentor other employees.
  • Maintain quality and report on progress to supervisor.

Hopkins | Lacy, the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) Division of Branch, is searching for a dependable, conscientious Foreman to join our well-established, growing company. The Foreman will be supervising or assisting project leadership in the supervision of craft activities to ensure optimum productivity and construction compliance.

THIS JOBSITE IS A FEDERAL PROJECT AND REQUIRES THE CANDIDATE TO PASS A FEDERAL BACKGROUND CHECK.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Ensures that crew maintains professional relations with Owner, Engineer, and other team members
  • Builds job by plans and specifications as directed by supervisor
  • Prior to commencing work activities, develops and communicates an effective plan in cooperation with the Superintendent for area of responsibility and determines the means and methods necessary to meet project goals
  • Assures the proper storage of materials and rented equipment including regular checks of job material and equipment inventory
  • Assures the proper operation and maintenance of equipment under their control, including appropriate applications for the respective equipment
  • Reviews Miss Utility policy and ensures employee compliance
  • Executes and follows all company and OSHA safety guidelines, educating workers on workplace safety practices
  • Preplans and schedules craft activities on a daily basis as required
  • Cognization of inspection requirements and material/equipment requirements
  • Immediately reports any requests for extra work
  • Prepares/Assists superintendent in the preparation of daily, work unit quantity, and equipment reports, as well as a receipt of materials
  • Assist in the mentoring, training, and growth of other employee-owners
Duties/Responsibilities Cont.
  • Assures quality control and contract compliance of craft activity under supervision. Corrects or reports to the superintendent any suspicions of inaccurate layout
  • Supervises journeymen and laborers to determine that productivity and quality are to company standards
  • Is in direct charge of safety and accident control for the craft activity under supervision
  • Participates in safety meetings and the implementation of effective safety programs and communication of Miss Utility policy
  • Assures that work area is kept neat, clean, and safe. Conducts daily hazard analysis.
  • Assists in conducting post-incident investigations
  • Assists in training and development of workers, recognizing those of talent and providing them with career enhancing opportunities

Compensation

Salary Min: $64,970.50
Salary Max: $111,420.00
Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, midrange vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which typically requires 40 hours per week.
