Job summary

BSA Lifestructures invites a Mechanical or Architectural Engineering student to join our Raleigh studio for a Summer 2027 internship. You will gain hands-on experience by participating in design ideation, drafting, and client communications under guidance from experienced professionals.

You will attend design meetings, visit construction sites, perform field surveys, and help prepare presentations and drawings.

Qualifications

• Current student in an accredited Mechanical or Architectural Engineering program during Summer 2027.
• Familiarity with Revit, 3D CAD and SketchUp preferred.
• Familiarity with Windows environment and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop design ideas considering aesthetics, function, serviceability and client specs.
• Prepare working drawings from sketches and design specification.
• Prepare client presentations and materials.
• Participate in project design meetings to see cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Attend client meetings and visit construction sites.
• Participate in site surveys to collect field data.

BSA is seeking a motivated Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering student to join our team for a Summer 2027 internship at our Raleigh studio.

What You'll Do:

• Participate in the development of design ideas based on factors such as appealing appearance, design-function relationships, serviceability, and client specifications.
• Prepare working drawings from sketches and design specification.
• Prepare presentations and materials for clients.
• Participate in project design meetings to experience how multi-disciplinary teams collaborate on project design and delivery.
• Attend client meetings; visit construction sites on projects.
• Participate in site surveys to gather field data.

Education and Experience:

• Educational Background: Will be a current student of an accredited Mechanical or Architectural Engineering program during Summer of 2027
• Software Skills: Familiarity with Revit, 3D CADD, SketchUp
• Office Tools: Familiarity with Microsoft Windows environment, Microsoft Office Suite
