Job summary

Aerotech seeks Mechanical Engineering students for internship or co-op opportunities at its Pittsburgh, PA facility. Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering degree program (undergrad or grad).
• Sophomores to seniors and graduate students are eligible.
• Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Experience with at least one 3D solid modeling package is preferred.
• Experience with MATLAB or Python is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, assembly, testing, and analysis of precision positioning systems under guidance of an engineer.
• Learn to use metrology equipment like laser interferometers and capacitive probes to characterize motions.
• Apply frequency response and vibration testing to assess dynamic performance of servomechanisms.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and fix process issues.
• Collect, analyze, and present data using software tools for meetings and reports.
• Practice project management to define problems, track progress, and report results.
