Job summary

CACI International Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 at our Dulles, VA location to support various programs. The internship lasts 12 weeks and runs on-site, beginning in May.

You will work under a technical manager with on-the-job training and mentorship, performing mechanical assembly, 3D design, and documentation, including 3D parts and CNC components. Strong communication and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
• Familiarity with and interest in 3D CAD, FEA and CFD simulation, Fabrication, and 3D printing
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, ability to work independently
• Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly of parts and creation of assembly, test, and integration documentation
• Mechanical design of 3D parts and creation of 3D and CNC parts
• Support ongoing programs under mentorship of a technical manager
• Contribute to documentation and on-site shop activities

The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a talented, creative, and highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 at our Dulles, VA location to support various ongoing programs. The internship will begin in May, last 12 weeks and will require you to work fully on-site.

Responsibilities:
You will work under the leadership of a technical manager that will provide OJT and mentorship. Tasks will include mechanical assembly of parts; creation of assembly, test, and integration documentation; mechanical design of 3D parts; creation of 3D and CNC parts; and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$45,900 - $91,900
